Best Budget-Friendly American Flag: Anley Fly Breeze 3×5 Foot American US Flag
We loved this super affordable American Flag that is made from light weight polyester fabric. This is good choice if you want to display a flag indoors—or outside in light winds. Here’s more:
What We Liked
• Bright colors.
• 2 brass grommets and canvas header.
• Double stitching around edges to prevent fraying.
What Needs Work
• Fades quickly if outdoors.
• Thin fabric won’t withstand high winds. Yes, this flag would be better indoors—or outside in areas with light wind.
• Not made in USA.
Best American Flag Outdoor: Cheeerrrs American Flag
Affordable American flags are great for indoor display, but what if you want something for outside? In that case, we’d suggest a flag with embroidered stars and sewn stripes—that makes the flag more durable than a screen printed version, based on our testing.
Good news: you don’t have to spend a fortune to find a flag for outdoors with these features. After testing several brands, we’d recommend Cheeerrrs American Flag. Here’s why:
What We Liked
• Sewn detailing.
• Embroidered stars
• Heavyweight polyester fabric. This flag is made with 210 Denier nylon fabric.
• Fade resistant.
• Affordable.
What Needs Work
• Large grommets. For some reason, the grommets on this flag are a bit larger in diameter than other flags we tested. That can be a problem if your pole is designed for flags with smaller grommets.
• Not made in the USA.
Best Heavy Duty American Flag: G128 American Flag
Less expensive nylon American flags are great for indoors, but what if you want a heavy-duty flag for outdoors? We liked G128’s American flag, which is both affordable and well made. Here’s more:
What We Liked
• Waterproof UV protective coating. This helps keep it from fading.
• 2 brass grommets.
• Bright colors!
• Embroidered stars and stitched stripes.
• 4 rows of stitching on the hem. That’s a good sign of quality.
What’s Needs Work
• Not made in USA.
• May not last long in harsh environments. We saw one user report that the flag began to fray after only a month when flown in high winds. Another person who used this on a boat said it lasted about a year before shredding. So that isn’t too bad . . . but this flag probably would do best in less harsh outdoor conditions, such as areas with light or moderate wind.
Best American Flag Made in the USA: Grace Alley American Flag
It probably won’t shock you to learn that most American flags aren’t actually made in the USA. Like almost all things today, overseas makers dominate the American flag market.
That’s why we were excited to find the Grace Alley American Flag, made in Florida, USA. Yes, it isn’t as budget-friendly as imported flags, but hey—this flag supports an American company with American workers! And, as it turns out, the quality is quite impressive. Here’s more:
What We Liked
• Embroidered stars and stitched stripes. Unlike less expensive flags made of nylon, this flag is more substantial.
• Looks fantastic.
• 2 brass grommets.
• Great for outdoor use in moderate winds.
What’s Needs Work
• Can fray on ends after period of time. We didn’t have this issue in our testing, but we see reports from others. Then again, all flags start to fray after a while, depending on how windy an area is!
