Finding the Best Brown Sugar Cinnamon Tarts: Our Taste Test!

Sure, it was a tough job . . . but someone had to do it!

We gathered cinnamon and brown sugar tart enthusiasts here at the office to do a blind test—which one tasted best? Could a gluten-free tart stand up to the big brand name? 

First, let us sing the praises of brown sugar and cinnamon . . . wow, there is something about this taste combination that makes an ordinary tart something special.

We tried tarts with and without frosting, but when we tallied up the winners, it was clear that the frosted versions were a clear favorite. That’s an interesting difference compared to when we tested strawberry tarts—when it comes to fruit-filled tarts, there is a large minority of folks who like the frosting-free version. Not true with brown sugar and cinnamon! For some reason, frosting makes or breaks these tarts.

A quick allergy note: even though we recommend a gluten-free option in this article, these tarts are made in a facility that also processes wheat, peanuts, eggs, soy and other tree nuts. So for those of you looking to truly avoid even traces of gluten, these may not be the best choice.
