Most Comfortable Mask: MZOO Sleep Eye Mask for Men Women
What’s the most comfortable sleep mask? While the answer might seem subjective, we discovered one type of mask seemed to make more folks happier than others: contoured masks.
Why are these so comfortable? They have memory foam around the eyes and nose—so there is no fabric pushing down on your eyes.
We tried out several sleep masks before deciding the contoured MZOO Sleep Eye Mask is the best bet . . . yes, it is very comfortable!
Here’s why:
What We Liked
• Great at light blocking.
• Nice, wide strap that is adjustable.
• No pressure on the eyes.
• Doesn’t tangle long hair.
• Memory foam around eye and nose.
• Includes travel pouch and set of earplugs.
What Needs Work
• Could work better for small faces. Yes, this mask works better for average and large faces.
• Elastic band can stretch out after several months of use.
• Pricey.
• Metal buckle on strap= not great for side sleepers. If that’s you, consider the next mask pick as a good alternative.
Best For Side Sleepers: Mavogel Cotton Sleep Eye Mask
Sleep masks work wonders, but many have a flaw: metal clasps on the band can be uncomfortable for those folks who sleep on their sides.
In our test of different sleep masks, we picked Mavogel’s cotton mask as the best bet for side sleepers. No metal clasp! And it is super soft.
What We Liked
• Very comfortable!
• Soft.
• Nose piece can be adjusted to fit your face.
• Doesn’t move around, thanks to triangle wing design.
• Made of 5 layers of cotton.
• Thick strap with buckle that is positioned away from the ears.
What Needs Work
• Doesn’t work well for small noses.
• Can get hot.
• Doesn’t block light as well as the MZOO mask (recommended above), in our opinion.
Best Natural Silk Mask: Alaska Bear Natural Silk Sleep Mask
When we surveyed our readers about their favorite masks, we discovered there is a distinct group of folks who like silk sleep masks. These natural fabric masks are lightweight and comfortable.
After trying out four different silk sleep masks, we think Alaska Bear’s Natural Silk sleep mask is the best choice. Here’s why:
What We Liked
• Silk fabric on both sides.
• Soft!
• Lightweight!
• Very comfortable.
• 20 different colors.
• Easy to adjust strap.
• Comes with drawstring bag.
• Can be hand washed in mild shampoo (air dry).
• Affordable.
What Needs Work
• Not everyone is a fan of the strap. We see reports that some folks thought the strap on this sleep mask hurt their ears. We didn’t find that in our test . . . but this could be an issue for folks with larger heads (this mask seems to work best for those with smaller heads).
• Pressure on the eyes bothers some folks.
• Light can leak from the bottom of the mask.
Best Sleep Mask for Women: Jersey Slumber 100% Silk Sleep Mask
We surveyed the moms who read our books to find their favorite sleep mask. Among the brands they suggested, Jersey Slumber was mentioned time and again. We tried out this mask and would agree: it is a great sleep mask that is sized particularly well for women.
Here’s more:
What We Liked
• Easy to adjust.
• Lightweight.
• Soft and comfortable.
• 100% silk.
• Affordable.
What Needs Work
• Too slick? We see reports from some users who said this mask is so smooth it slides off their face! That’s sub-optimal.
• Doesn’t block all light. It is close enough in our opinion, however!
• Dye from mask can run on pillow.
