We tried out quite a few baby sunglasses with actual babies and parents. Nearly all baby sunglasses have a band to keep them in place—some have thicker bands, some thinner. Sizing is also all over the board.

What Needs Work
• Too close to the face or eyes for some babies. Yep, the tight fit of these glasses can be a downside—some kids didn’t like having them so close to their eyes.

Don’t let the super cute shark-themed frames fool you—these are are good quality sunglasses with 100% UV protection and anti-scratch coating. And, yes, they are are adorable.

• BPA-free polycarbonate frames and lens.
What’s Needs Work
• Strap can’t be removed easily.
• Lenses pop out too easily. We didn’t see this in the pair we tested, but we see reports of this online. That’s a bit disappointing at this price level.
• Strap may be too big for smallest babies.

Going to the beach? Or heading out to play in the snow? Polarized sunglasses cut down on the glare. They are especially nice when the sun is super bright or bouncing off the water. We tried out a few baby sunglasses that were polarized before deciding that Hipsterkid was the best bet. Here’s why:
